The merging of digital media with print and classic broadcast over the recent decades has led to a fundamental change in the media industry. Publishing houses are more and more becoming start-up centers for digital founders. Broadcasters and streaming services are increasingly producing their own content these days. Information has attained the status of a most valuable currency. However, a more restrictive handling of data and the reduction of the power of media companies are on many people’s agenda. In terms of media usage, the society is divided in “young onliners” and “old offliners”, and the challenge is to serve both customer groups equally. This leads to interesting M&A approaches, both in terms of further consolidation as well as regarding the politically and socially requested split of digital power between more and smaller market participants.
Since formation of our company, buy-side and sell-side mandates in the media industry have been at the center of our activities. We can provide multiple references for successful transaction advisory services in both, print and digital media.
